Comprehensive training and support for teachers, equipping them with both the technical knowledge and effective teaching methodologies needed to deliver coding and robotics lessons confidently.
Teachers CanCode is a dedicated upskilling initiative designed for qualified teachers who are ready to step confidently into the world of Coding and Robotics, and master it.
Coding and robotics is not a subject any teacher can simply absorb on the side. It requires a genuine understanding of computational thinking and computer programming principles. Whether the curriculum calls for block-based or text-based coding, the underlying logic and methodology remain the same and without a firm grasp of the basics, teaching becomes guesswork.
The Department of Education has structured the content with intention: it is scaffolded, building from the ground up. By Grade 1, learners are already engaging with concepts like Loops. The complexity only grows from there. A teacher who hasn’t mastered the foundation will struggle to take learners where they need to go especially in the critical foundation phase.
Most teachers are not failing because of a lack of dedication. They are failing because the training they received was too brief, too shallow, and too disconnected from the real demands of the subject. Pedagogy alone cannot carry a lesson when subject knowledge is missing.
Full Resource Provision: Effective Coding and Robotics teaching requires the right tools. We provide all necessary teaching and learning resources, including robotics kits and equipment, so that nothing stands between a teacher and an excellent lesson.
NQF Level 6 Certification & School Placement Upon successful completion of the programme, teachers receive an NQF Level 6 certificate a recognised qualification that opens doors. Graduates are then actively placed in schools, ready to make an immediate impact.
